It’s in Old Greenwich, on Shoreham Road, and has floor-to-ceiling glass walls that make for fantastic views of Long Island Sound.
It won an award in 2010 from the American Institute of Architects, which described it as “conceptually taut, yet has a whimsical quality.”
Architect Joeb Moore designed the home with the idea that it would have synergy with the water and nature around it, according to the listing.
The AIA described that synergy this way: “The radial geometry at work in the house, tied to notions of water, waves, and sea, creates the spiraling form that relates social spaces to private spaces and seamlessly adjoins interior with exterior.”
In layman’s language, it’s modern, angular, clad in wood and elevated to comply with FEMA regulations. Built in 2009, it has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, glass fireplaces, and access to the beach and boat launch that belong to the private association where the home is located.
