Child Abducted By Parent In Southeast DC, Police Say

An alert has been issued by the Metropolitan Police Department as the agency investigates a parental kidnapping involving a 2-year-old child in Southeast DC.

Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in tracking down Keondre Smith, who was last seen at around midnight on Monday, April 3 in the 400 block of Chesapeake Street with his father, Alvin Young, who was driving a black Chevy Tahoe with paper tags.

The 2-year-old Smith was described as being approximately 3-feet tall, weighing 30 pounds with brown eyes, and black hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and black shoes.

Officials say that the case is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Youth and Family Services Division.
