"They say you can't buy love, but you can certainly rescue it from an animal shelter," said Mindy Gale, organizer of the event.
Bergen County's most fashionable pups are invited to participate in the "Puparazzi Pooch Parade" and strut their stuff on the red carpet at Woofstock. The event will also feature a showcase of local pet-centric businesses, live music from SunDog Band and DJ, prizes and a dozen or so dogs ready for adoption.
"Our family adopted Zoey, an adorable teddy bear breed from PetResQ last summer and she instantly brought joy to our family," Gale said. "She formed a special bond with her twin teen 'sisters' and older Maltese bro, Zeus, within months."
This year's event will benefit local organizations including Bergen Protect in Cliffside Park and Rescue, CLAWS in Edgewater, and START II Animal Shelter in Englewood.
The Borough of Edgewater will also be on site to help register pets.
This event is free and open to the public. It will run from 11a.m. to 4 p.m., on the River Road side of the Promenade, near Chipotle and Pier 1 Imports.
