Uhrich was born Sept. 27, 1914, in New York City, to Joseph Schlueter and Teresa Schmidt Schlueter. She attended public schools in Bergenfield, Rochester, and Buffalo and worked as a buyer's secretary for Flint & Kent, a Buffalo department store, until her marriage. After living in Buffalo for several years, in 1956 the family moved to Stamford where she resided until her death. She was active in Camp Fire Girls and the Girl Scouts. In Stamford, she was a member of Saint Cecilia Church and then Saint Gabriel Church from its founding. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
Uhrich is survived by her children, Marie (Theresa) Uhrich of Norwalk, Mark Uhrich (Monique) of Maisons-Laffitte, France, Margaret Tatton (Geoffrey) of Stamford, Mary Pobieglo (Joseph) of Essex Junction, Vt., and Ruth Ann Cloonan (John) of Norwalk; four grandchildren; a step-grandson; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Marcellus George Uhrich; two sisters; and a brother.
Calling hours are Friday, Dec. 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Leo P Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21 at Saint Gabriel Church in Stamford followed by burial at the Queen of Peace cemetery in Stamford.
