Things to Do This Weekend in the Tarrytowns

Friday

Tarrytown Third Friday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Includes eighth annual pet parade, live music, art, poetry and games. Full schedule available here.

Open Mic Night at the Hudson Valley Writers’ Center, 8 p.m. (Sign-up is at 7:30 p.m.): Open Mike Night for poets, fiction writers, essayists, musicians, singers, and other writer and performers. Admission is $3.

Saturday

West African Dance Master Class with Rockland dance group Chiku Awali, 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the Tarrytown YMCA. Class is $25 per person or $30 for two.

"Things, Etc." exhibit at the Irvington Historical Center (131 Main Street), 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Troll dolls, vintage gems, fishing lures, the White House ornaments, and Star Wars toys.

Yolanda Johnson on A Spiritual’s Experience, 2:30 p.m. at the Warner Library in Tarrytown. In celebration of Black History Month, soprano, Yolanda F. Johnson, will offer special insight on traditional spirituals. The program will also include a sing-along for audience members to gain a new understanding of these well-known and beloved songs.

Los Lonely Boys with special guest The Stone Foxes at the Tarrytown Music Hall, 8 p.m.: After debuting in 2003 with a multi-chart gold single, selling millions of albums, winning a grammy, opening for The Rolling Stones, and many more accomplishments, the Texican Rock'n'roll trio of brothers, Los Lonely Boys are back on tour in support of their fourth studio album, Rockpango.

There Goes the Neighborhood!, Sleepy Hollow Cemetary Walking Tour, 8 p.m. Advanced reservations required. Cost is $25.: Join Sara Mascia and Tara Van Tassell on these evening walking tours of Sleepy Hollow Cemetery as they discover our colorful local residents and some of our world famous inhabitants. Skill level: Some people may find the pace of our two-hour walking tours challenging. We cover more than a mile on foot and encounter stairs, unpaved roads, and hills. Please consider your own abilities when signing up for a tour.

Sunday

Annie Jr. performance from youth theater company Random Farms Kids’ Theater, 11 a.m. at the Tarrytown Music Hall. Premium tickets ($13) benefitting RFKT’s scholarship fund. $8 orchestra tickets also available.
