Marie C. Heller, 85, Longtime Montrose Resident

MONTROSE, N.Y. - Marie "Honey" C. Heller, a longtime Montrose resident, died Monday, Oct. 14. She was 85.

Heller was born April 9, 1928, in Peekskill, to Clarence and Elizabeth Mackey. She attended and graduated from Hendrick Hudson High School. She worked and retired from Verizon then worked in the cafeteria at Hendrick Hudson High School.

Heller is survived by her sons, John M. (Patricia) and Steven J. Heller of Montrose; sister, Claire Owens of Florida; and two granddaughters. She was predeceased by her husband, John A. Heller; and sisters, Carole Dahlke and Jane Wilson.

Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 18 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at St. Patrick's R.C. Church in Verplanck. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Verplanck.
