Greenwich Estate Sells for $13 Million

GREENWICH, Conn. ? If you were looking for that perfect 17-acre estate in Greenwich – the one with a 14,000-square-feet home fully furnished from the curtains to the cutlery – you missed the boat.

That property, on Upper Cross Road, just sold for $13.5 million, one of the highest-priced home transactions in Fairfield County this year.

What else did you miss? For starters, a fully equipped kitchen, complete with china, glass stemware, utensils and cookware. And the house came fully designed and furnished, inside and out.

There's even an aquarium fully stocked with exotic fish.

The home features seven bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two half-baths, as well as a dramatic, two-story dining area off the gourmet kitchen. Just beyond the kitchen doors are expansive entertaining terraces brought together with a new outdoor kitchen, and a sitting area surrounding a fire pit.

Of course, such amenities would be incomplete without an in-ground pool and lushly landscaped gardens. There is also a log-cabin guesthouse located discreetly on the property.

Kathryn Clauss and Joanne Mancuso represented the seller of the estate, located at 74 Upper Cross Road. It was extensively renovated in 2011 by designer Linda Ruderman of Greenwich.

“This is truly an exquisite property that was carefully renovated and tastefully decorated over a two-year period. The new owners can literally move into this home without having to spend a lot of time decorating and selecting furnishings,” said Clauss. She added: “The estate attracted a lot of interest, and we are pleased we were able to successfully assist our seller clients with this transaction.”

Oh well, maybe next time.
