McKee served as a director of the Greenwich Association of Realtors and the Greenwich Multiple Listing Service from 2009-14. McKee served as president of the boards in 2012, '13 and '14.

McKee was also instrumental in contributing to GAR’s members through her leadership on several committees over the past decade, including social, grievance, international and public affairs. McKee also serves on the board of directors for the Connecticut Association of Realtors.

McKee is a strong contributor to the education and mentoring of real estate professionals and those in the Greenwich community. McKee is a certified mediator in the National Association of Realtors' mediation program and assists in resolving disputes and building consensus.

McKee has been licensed and a Realtor for 30 years. Her tenure has included time with the former Prudential real estate office, Sotheby’s International Realty and David Ogilvy and Associates. McKee’s colleagues credit her for always taking action on issues, being detailed in her pursuits for accuracy, working to bring consensus and encouraging them to make the right decisions for the benefit of the whole.

McKee was presented the Realtor of the Year award by Carolyn Anderson, secretary of GAR and 2011’s Realtor Hall of Fame recipient.

The Realtor of the Year Award is the highest honor presented to a member and is based upon leadership and contributions made to the Greenwich Association of Realtors, the Connecticut Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, and the Greenwich community.

“Barb is most deserving of this recognition,” said GAR 2015 President Joann Erb. “She is an outstanding leader representing the rights of homeowners and the betterment of the Greenwich community. All of our members owe Barb a debt of gratitude for her intelligent, bridge-building, forward-thinking, strategic and competent approach to making the GAR and the Greenwich MLS the best professional association it can be. I am very pleased that Barb’s colleagues have selected her to be the recipient of this distinguished award.”
