GREENWICH, Conn. -- Actor Mel Gibson’s former Greenwich digs, a lush spread of more than 75 acres with its own tennis court, stables, and life-sized outdoor chessboard, is being sold at a discount, according to a report in the Greenwich Time.

The estate, which was bought from Westchester, N.Y. native Gibson six years ago by a Stamford lawyer and his wife, was going for a cool $31.5 million last January but has since had its asking price reduced to a mere $27.5 million, the Greenwich Time story said.

According to Coldwell-Banker’s website, the home on Old Mill Road contains 15,862 square feet of space and has 10 full- and seven half-baths, a movie theater and other luxurious amenities.
