Witnesses Contradict Greenwich's Tom Foley's Account Of 1981 Arrest

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Documents obtained by The Hartford Courant contradict the account of a 1981 incident that led to the arrest of Greenwich resident and 2010 gubernatorial candidate Tom Foley.

Foley, who recently announced the formation of a committee to explore running for governor again in 2014, said in 2010 that a traffic incident in Long Island that led to his arrest was a low speed accident. The driver of the other vehicle, Michael Howe of Greenwich, told The Courant that the incident wasn't an accident and was much more frightening.
