Report: Greenwich Republican Tom Foley To Make Another Run For Governor

GREENWICH, Conn. -- In announcing his bid to run again for governor, Greenwich millionaire Tom Foley said he may use public financing in the 2014 campaign, according to a report in The Hartford Courant.

Tom Foley, a Republican from Greenwich, narrowly lost in his bid for governor in 2010. He is considering another run in 2014.

Foley narrowly lost in 2010 to Gov. Dannel Malloy, a Democrat. He has formed an exploratory committee to seek a rematch. Malloy has not yet announced his plans for 2014.

Foley is not the only person seeking the Republican nomination. At least three other candidates have also announced their intentions to run: Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, Senate Minority Leader John McKinney of Fairfield and state Sen. Toni Boucher of Wilton.
