The purpose of the meetings is to "gather input from constituents on the issues currently facing Congress," according to the statement. Himes is encouraging all of his constituents to attend.
“As Congress deliberates how best to accelerate job growth, reduce our national deficit, prevent future gun violence and reform our immigration system, I want to hear your thoughts and ideas on these and the other important issues facing our nation,” Himes said in the statement. “Hearing from you makes me a better representative, and I hope all who are interested attend one of these meetings.”
Constituents are encouraged to RSVP, although it is not required. You can RSVP by calling 866-453-0028 or online at himes.house.gov.
Himes will also hold town hall meetings in Fairfield on Tuesday, Wilton on Thursday and Shelton on Saturday morning.
