Greenwich Residents Can Comment On Block Grants

GREENWICH, Conn. — Many organizations that serve Greenwich are in line for some financial help from the town, and the public will have a chance to comment on the contributions in the coming weeks.

Funding recommendations for the 2013 round of community development block grants has been released by First Selectman Peter Tesei. Some of the biggest beneficiaries would be the Housing Authority of Greenwich, the Friends of Laurel House, Family Centers Inc. and the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut.

Greenwich's Board of Estimation and Taxation will discuss the plan at its meeting Monday at 6:30 p.m. in Town Hall. The Representative Town Meeting will begin final consideration on Oct. 22. The public will be able to comment at both meetings.

Residents who want to make comments also can download out an input sheet to send to the town.
