Fairfield Native Justin Long Campaigning For Bernie Sanders In Connecticut

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Actor Justin Long, a Fairfield native, is making campaign stops Monday in Connecticut for Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders in advance of Tuesday's presidential primary in the Nutmeg State.

Long will be speaking with volunteers and canvassing for votes ahead of Tuesday's presidential primary. Connecticut is one of five states voting on April 26.

Here is Long's itinerary:

3 p.m. New Haven Canvassing Kickoff, Bernie 2016 New Haven Field Office, 845 Whalley Ave., New Haven. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

7:30 p.m. University of Connecticut Rally at the Information Technology Engineering Room C80 in Storrs. Doors open at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Long, 37, is known for roles in such films as "Jeepers Creepers," "Dodgeball," "Accepted," "Live Free or Die Hard," "Alpha and Omega" and "Comet." He played Warren Cheswick on the NBC TV series "Ed" and appeared with John Hodgman in TV commercials for Apple's "Get a Mac" advertising campaign.

His father, Raymond James Long, was a philosophy and Latin professor at Fairfield University, and his mother, Wendy Lesniak, was a former actress who has mostly appeared on stage.

Long attended Fairfield College Preparatory School and Vassar College. 

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Connecticut for the presidential primary. Voters must be a members of a political party to cast ballots.
