The embattled Speaker of the New York State, who is facing federal corruption charges, will be replaced by Monday and a new leader will be elected on Feb. 10, according to multiple reports. Assembly Majority Leader Joseph Morelle will serve as speaker until then, according to reports.

Silver, a Democrat from Manhattan, has been assembly speaker since 1994.

Silver's fate was sealed after a daylong meeting of fellow Democrats, reports The New York Times.
