$411M Greenwich Budget Plan Includes Funds For New Pool, School

GREENWICH, Conn. -- The $411 million budget plan approved by a town board would provide the funds for Greenwich to move ahead on a new building for the New Lebanon School and a new town pool, according to Greenwich Time.

The plan, moved ahead by the Board of Estimate of Taxation, would increase the town's mill rate by 2.75 percent, Greenwich Time reported.

The town has budgeted money for architecture and engineering work for a new building for New Lebanon School, which is overcrowded and obsolete, the story said.

The budget would also fund the costs of a new municipal pool in Byram Park, Greenwich Time said.

But bids to add funds to fix potholes and to hire more firefighters failed, Greenwich Time said.

The budget now goes to the Representative Town Meeting for a final vote May 11.
