Woman, 57, Hit By Bus In Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. — The person hit by a bus in Greenwich has been identified as a 57-year-old woman, but police are not yet releasing her name.

The woman, who remains in intensive care Tuesday in Stamford Hospital, was crossing Glenville Road near Lake Avenue when she was struck Monday afternoon by a bus carrying five students from a local private school, police said. None of the students were hurt, said police, who did not identify the school.

The woman was thrown into the road and struck her head after she was hit. She slid into an oncoming lane of traffic but was not hit by any other vehicles, police said.

There are no crosswalks near the accident's location, police said.

Police also did not release the name of the bus driver.
