Westport Police: Drunken Man Banged On Neighbor's Door, Left Kids Alone

WESTPORT, Conn. — An apparently drunken Westport man didn’t have much luck getting into his neighbor’s house early Monday, police said.

Westport Police arrested Ariel Aparicio-Jarro early Monday morning, charging him with breach of peace and two charges of risk of injury to a child.

Officers responded to a Sniffen Road residence at 1:30 a.m. on a report from the homeowner that someone was banging on his door and yelling to to let him in, police said.

Ariel Aparicio-Jarro, of 1 Sniffen Road, was found walking around the exterior of the house by officers, police said.

Police said the suspect appeared to be intoxicated.

Aparicio-Jarro had left his 9-year-old and 3-year-old children in his house unattended during the incident, police said.

He was charged with breach of peace and two counts of risk of injury to a child, police said.

Aparicio-Jarro was held on $1,000 bond and was issued a court date of Sept. 10, police said.
