Police said that Linda Richardson was walking near Sandy Lane Village, at Sandy Lane near Homestead Lane, when she was hit by a a car at around 6:10 p.m. Monday. The vehicle left the scene of the crash at a high rate of speed, traveling east on Sandy Lane to Old Gray's Bridge Road, police said.

Police said Friday that they have identified a vehicle of interest. It was described as a gray or silver four-door sedan, with a turn indicator on the side or side mirror, police said.
The vehicle may have damage to the front bumper, hood, or windshield, police said.

Richardson was born on July 4, 1964 in Bayshore, NY to the late Reginald and Helen (Brett) Richardson. She grew up in Bethel and graduated from Bethel High School before eventually making Brookfield her home with her longtime boyfriend, Jay Arsenault.
She enjoyed spending holidays with her family, time with her friends and playing with her nieces and nephews and watching them grow up. By far, Richardson's greatest love was for her son, Dylan.
Richardson was predeceased by her parents, Reginald and Helen Richardson. She is survived by her son, Dylan of Danbury; her sister Donna Richardson of Middlebury; sister Michele Richardson of Middletown, her brother Stephen Richardson (Custodian at Hawley School, Newtown) and his wife Kelly of Watertown; as well her nieces and nephews for whom she cared deeply.
The family would like to thank the public for their outpouring of support during this very tragic time. Linda was loved by many people and will be greatly missed.
