Thirteen Shot, One Critical In Bridgeport House Party Ambush

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Thirteen people were wounded in an early morning ambush on a large Plymouth Street house party, including one woman who was shot in the face and was in critical condition Sunday morning, police said.

Evidence suggests two shooters fired through the hedges from the backyard at 31-33 Plymouth Street and struck the victims, who were all in the rear of 19 Plymouth Street, police said. Officers were called to reports of shots fired shortly before 1:30 a.m.

Ten victims were treated at Bridgeport Hospital and three went to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, transported by both private car and ambulance.

Eleven sustained non-life threatening wounds to their lower extremities, police said. One male sustained a gunshot wound to the face that is non-life threatening and a woman is in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the face, police said.

Eleven of the victims are male, police said.
