Stamford Police Warn Of Strange Men Approaching School Girls

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford police have increased patrols around city schools after three girls said they had been approached by strange men, the Stamford Advocate and News12 Connecticut are reporting.

All three girls made complaints that a white man had followed them after they were separately dropped off by school buses in the area of Shadow Ridge Road, the Advocate said.

Davenport Ridge Elementary School and Rippowam Middle School sent letters home Tuesday notifying parents of the incidents, News12 said.

Lt. Diedrich Hohn said extra patrols and unmarked cars are watching the area, the Advocate reported.

Police said the girls' descriptions varied but all said he was about 6 feet tall with either curly or spiked hair, the Advocate said.
