Stamford Police Search For Suspect In Robbery At Hope Street CVS

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A man pretending he wanted to make change reached over the counter at a store and snatched a small amount of money from the cash register at 221 Hope St. on Thursday night, Stamford police said.

At 7 p.m., a man walked into the CVS at 221 Hope St., and waited in line with a drink in hand, police said. Her spoke to the cashier, saying he needed to make change, police said. When the cashier opened the drawer, the suspect reached over and grabbed the money, police said. A brief struggle ensued as the cashier attempted to grab the man's hand but the suspect pulled his hand away from the cashier and fled, police said.

The man is described as a black male with tattoos on his face and wearing dark clothing, police said.
