Stamford Man Charged With Hitting Man With Bottle During Bar Fight

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 21-year-old Stamford man was charged with assault in a bar fight that took place during the early morning hours of Sunday, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Police told the Stamford Advocate that a fight broke out at Brother Jimmy's BBQ on Bedford Street at 1:30 a.m. Sunday. A group of men had pushed a 21-year-old man out a back door and harassed his girlfriend, the Stamford Advocate reported.

At one point during the fight, 21-year-old Jean Hargrove smashed a bottle over the man's head, according to the Stamford Advocate. The victim suffered a cut to his right eye and the top of his head and was bleeding, the Stamford Advocate reported.

Witnesses pointed Hargrove out to police when they arrived, and he was arrested, police told the Stamford Advocate. He was charged with second-degree assault and creating a public disturbance, and held on a $5,000 bond, according to the Stamford Advocate.
