GREENWICH, Conn. — A Stamford man was charged with stealing two cars in a chase through Greenwich last year, according to Greenwich Time.
Police told Greenwich Time that 21-year-old Shicquane Narine was seen in the early morning hours of June 3 driving on Hamilton Avenue in an Audi with no headlights on. Police tried to pull it over, but it sped away, eventually crashing on Museum Drive, Greenwich Time reported. The chase didn't stop there, and Narine stole a Land Rover on Oneida Drive and continued to flee police, driving on I-95 north at speeds of up to 100 mph, according to Greenwich Time.
Police broke off the pursuit of the Land Rover, which was later found in Stamford, according to Greenwich Time. They also determined that the Audi had also been stolen, Greenwich Time reported. Investigation of cell phone records, DNA and witness interviews identified Narine as a suspect, police told Greenwich Time.
Narine, who is in custody on charges related to a drive-by shooting in Stamford last year, was additionally charged last week with reckless driving, engaging in a police pursuit and first-degree larceny, Greenwich Time reported.
