Police are investigating an armed robbery of a local gas station, where a masked suspect wielding a knife made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to investigators from the Fairfield Police Department.

Officers from the Fairfield Police Department were dispatched to the Star Fuels Gas Station on Jennings Road at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Sunday night, where there was a report from a store clerk who said a man had entered the store armed with a knife, demanding cash.

Police said that the clerk proceeded to open the cash register and backed away while the suspect reached over the counter, taking the entire cash drawer out of the register before fleeing on foot east on Jennings Road.

On Monday afternoon, police released video surveillance photos, which showed a “tall, thin male, with light to fair skin, wearing a purple bandana wrapped around his face, a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, work boots and the knife.

Anyone with information regarding the armed robbery has been asked to contact the Fairfield Police Department’s Detective Bureau by calling (203) 254-4840 or texting the tip to 274637 with the keyword “FPD” in the message.
