Man Hit By Train Near Greenwich Station

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- A 30-year-old Port Chester man was hit by a train while walking along the tracks early Sunday morning, officials said.

At 2:32 a.m. the man was walking on the tracks between the Port Chester and Greenwich stations when he was hit by an eastbound train, according to Metro-North spokesperson Marjorie Anders. The man was taken to the Westchester Medical Center. Anders said the man did have some internal bleeding, but will likely be okay.

The train was traveling express from Grand Central to Stamford, where it was scheduled to continue on to New Haven. Anders said that there were 256 passengers onboard the train, who were put on the next train.
