Police: Man Hit With Taser During South Norwalk Incident

NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk Police used a Taser on a Stratford man to break up a fight that broke out on the Haviland Street parking deck, according to police reports.

The fight was reported when bars let out about 2 a.m., Saturday morning. A verbal argument started in the public parking lot and then turned physical, police say.

Alan Baez, 21, of Stratford, was accused of pulling a woman out of a car and punching her in the face during the argument, according to police reports. While the victim was on the ground another woman hit her in the face with a high-heeled shoe, causing a cut on her face, police say.

Police arrived and began talking to witnesses at the scene. During the interview Baez punched another man in the face, police said. He was then hit with a Taser to stop the assault, according to police reports.

A 21-year-old Norwalk woman was taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment after the incident. Baez was also taken to the hospital to have the Taser plugs removed, according to the report. Another female injured in the fight declined medical treatment.

Baez was arrested and charged with two counts of third-degree assault and breach of the peace. He was released after posting a $5,000 bond, and is due in court on Aug. 9.
