GREENWICH, Conn. — A 24-year-old Greenwich man with a lengthy criminal history has been charged in connection with the near fatal heroin overdose of an individual in the town, Greenwich Police said Wednesday.
Robert M. Wolterstorff III of 54 N. Old Stone Bridge Road was charged with the sale of narcotics and second-degree assault, police said. He was arrested Tuesday afternoon and held in custody after he couldn't post $100,000 bond.
Police released little information other than to say they had conducted a lengthy investigation after the near fatal overdose. On the police information the incident is recorded as Dec. 29.
Wolterstorff was sentenced to three years in prison in 2014 after pleading guilty to numerous charges, mainly theft and burglary, committed over a three-year period.
A second person was charged with witness tampering and second-degree harassment in the case, police said.
Daisy M. Bongiorni, 21, of 8 Sheephill Road, was arrested at 1:35 a.m. Wednesday after allegedly making numerous telephone calls and texts to the victim in the case asking her to recant her original statement she gave to police, Greenwich Police said. She also blamed the complainant for the incarceration of the suspect, police said.
Her bond was set at $25,000 and she was held in custody after not being able to post bond, police said.
