GREENWICH, Conn. — Police arrested a Stamford man accused of breaking into cars in Greenwich and pulling a knife on a resident who confronted him, according to Greenwich Time.

A resident of Almira Drive told police that he saw someone breaking into a car at around 5 a.m. Friday morning, Greenwich Time reported. When the resident went outside to confront the man, he puled a knife on the resident and told him to stay away, Greenwich Time reported.

Police responded to the area and located the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Kurt Vanzuuk of Stamford, who was in a Nissan that had been stolen out of Darien, according to Greenwich Time. They also found a number of stolen items inside the car, including computers, GPS devices, and backpacks, as well as some pills, Greenwich Time reported.

Police told Greenwich Time that they linked Vanzuuk to a home burglary as well as several car burglaries in the area, and that they are working with area police to see if he is connected to other burglaries. Vanzuuk, who has a criminal history was charged with second-degree robbery, burglary, two counts of robbery, criminal mischief and illegal storage of narcotics, according to Greenwich Time.
