GREENWICH, Conn. — A furious husband hit a man with a baseball bat and smashed out all the windows of the man's car in retaliation for alleged sexual advances made against his wife, Greenwich Police said.

Gilmar Obdulio Cana-Montufar, 35, of 21 Perry St., Apt. 1, Stamford, confronted the other man in a Perkins Street parking lot at about 7 a.m. Wednesday, police said. Cana-Montufar hit the victim in the head with a baseball bat and then smashed the car windows before fleeing, police said.

Officers were able to trace the man to his Stamford residence and arrested him there, police said.

Cana-Montufar was charged with third-degree assault, first-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and carrying a dangerous weapon.

He posted $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 10.

The victim was transported to Greenwich Hospital for treatment of his injuries, police said. There was no information available on the extent of the injuries.
