NORWALK, Conn. Gunfire erupted on a South Norwalk street Tuesday evening as two men fired shots from a car, causing pedestrians in the area to flee, Norwalk police said.
Police were unable to find a victim and reported no injuries.
Multiple residents called at 8:46 p.m. to report shots fired in the area of 26 Novak St., Sgt. James Boff said. Two black men came down the street in a gold Honda, shooting out the window, then speeding off in the direction of Meadow Street, according to witnesses, Boff said.
Police flooded the area, Boff said. A witness said she heard six or seven shots and a girl screaming. She reported several people had run away.
Police found six shell casings in the road. There also was a black Mongoose bicycle lying in the road.
There was no trail of blood, Boff said. Police checked all area hospitals and did not find a victim. There are no suspects.
