One Injured, Two In Custody In Norwalk Shooting

NORWALK, Conn. – An unnamed man was being treated at Norwalk Hospital on Wednesday night for a gunshot wound sustained on West Cedar Street, according to police.

Details of the shooting had not been released as of 8:45 p.m. because officers and detectives were still canvassing the scene for evidence, police said. But two men were in police custody in connection with the shooting, police said. Their identities had not yet been released.

The victim was transported to Norwalk Hospital at about 6:45 p.m. According to police, his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

Area residents heard multiple gunshots at about 6:30 p.m. near a grocery store on West Cedar Street, and two assailants were seen running off.

Police used a K-9 to track them down on nearby Cedar Crest Place.

Officers were seen collecting evidence and re-enacting the crime in the rain throughout Wednesday evening, including using flashlights to retrace the steps of the suspects’ attempted escape route.
