Norwalk Teen Arrested After Threatening To Shoot Up Briggs High

NORWALK, Conn.?--?A?Norwalk teenager who had been suspended from Briggs High School was arrested Friday afternoon after threatening to shoot up the school during a heated argument with staff, police told The Hour .

The 17-year-old male suspect, whose name was withheld because he is a juvenile, turned himself in to police and was charged with threatening, breach of peace and criminal trespass. He was remanded to the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center.

A Briggs staff member told police that the student was upset at the pace his application for the Job Corps was being processed and got into an argument with a teacher and a security guard, The Hour said. The teen told staff members:?"Now, I'm going to have to shoot things up," police told The Hour.
