Norwalk Police Find Drugs Hidden In Parolee's Bible

NORWALK, Conn. — A Norwalk man stopped after a disturbance on Bedford Avenue Wednesday morning was found with cocaine and heroin on him, including heroin that he had tried to hide inside the pages of a Bible, according to the Hour.

Police told the Hour that a group of people were causing a disturbance in a parking lot early Wednesday morning, and that one of them, 41-year-old Christopher Hayes, appeared to be under the influence of drugs. 

When officers patted him down, they found a bag of cocaine and 10 folds of heroin, as well as a Bible, the Hour reported. Hidden inside the Bible were four more folds of heroin, according to to the Hour.

Hayes, who is on parole for larceny, weapons and drug charges, was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell, according to the Hour. He was given a $2,500 bond and a July 21 court date.
