The two teens were charged with third-degree assault and conspiracy to commit third-degree assault. Each was issued a juvenile summons.
At about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, police received a report of a disturbance on West Avenue. Two men were walking near the old YMCA when three teens approached them, according to police reports.
One of the teens shouted an obscenity at the two men, then the teens proceeded to attack the men, punching them and knocking them to the ground, police said. One of the men, a 25-year-old, was briefly knocked unconscious, and was treated by EMS for cuts and lacerations to his face and head, police said.
After beating up the two men, the teens fled while a witness called police, according to reports. Officers searched the area and found two of the three teens, who were then taken into custody, police said.
