Westchester County Police arrested Caisy Frank, 32 of Queens, on multiple felony charges, police said. According to police, at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 21, someone broke into two cars in the New York Sports Club parking lot in Hawthorne and stole various items, including a .38-caliber handgun that belonged to a retired police officer.

Frank was arrested in the parking lot of the Ridge Hill Shopping Center in Yonkers after a brief struggle with police, police said. County police discovered Frank after the Mount Pleasant Police sent out a hotline message with a description of Frank and his vehicle to surrounding police departments after the car break-in and theft in Hawthorne.

Frank was charged with multiple felony counts of criminal possession of stolen property, criminal possession of personal identity information and criminal possession of a weapon. He was also charged with criminal mischief after he kicked out a window of a county police patrol car after his arrest, police said.

County police say Frank was also connected to the car break-ins and thefts at FDR park in Yorktown on Thursday morning.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department believes Frank is connected to multiple other thefts in the vicinity of the New York Sports Club in Hawthorne over the past several months, Alagno said Monday. An investigation was ongoing, and no further charges had been filed.

Frank was being held in the Westchester County Jail without bail.
