Police told the Stamford Advocate that the 56-year-old man was waiting at the intersection of East Main Street and Lafayette Street and crossed the street without waiting for a crosswalk signal. He was then struck by a woman turning from Lafayette Street onto East Main Street, the Stamford Advocate reported.
Video of the incident was published on the Stamford Advocate website.
The man refused medical attention, and a witness freed his dog, whose collar was stuck in the car's license plate, according to the Stamford Advocate. The man was given a verbal warning for disobeying the crosswalk signal, and the driver was given a verbal warning for failing to yield to a pedestrian, the Stamford Advocate reported.
