Waking Noel, 34, of Seaton Road, Stamford, is being held in lieu of a $100,000 after he was charged with assaulting the mother of his two-year-old child in February, said Sgt. Jennifer Lynch.

"He punched, kicked, hit and seriously injured the woman on two occasions," Lynch said.

The woman, who attempted to break-up with Noel in February, reported the first attack to police on Feb. 22 when he pushed her and took her cellphone, police said.

Noel returned to the woman's home a second time where he pushed and kicked her in front of the child. He also demanded money for another place to live, and when she refused he hit her in the head and took her phone again, Lynch said.

Within hours, police received two complaints of abuse taking place and arrived at the house to find the woman had been kicked, hit and punched all over her body including her head which was injured when she fell backward into an air conditioner, Lynch confirmed.

Noel was charged with three counts each of assault, unlawful restraint, a risk of injury to a child, threatening and carrying a dangerous weapon, Lynch added.

He is being held on $100,000 bond.
