Man Arrested Near Airport After Greenwich Shooting Incident

GREENWICH, Conn., -- A man was in police custody after an incident in which shots were fired at near a home and a victim was struck with a car Monday morning near King Street, Greenwich Police said.

Police diverted traffic on after an accident Monday that closed Airport Road near the Westchester County Airport. The suspect driver is believed to have beenn involved in a Greenwich shooting incident earlier. No one was shot.

Police said there was no further threat to the public arising out of the incident.

"This is not a random act nor is it a road rage incident," Greenwich Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray said. "The suspect and the intended victim knew one another."

He said no one was shot in the incident, which police were still investigating. The suspect's vehicle was then involved in an accident after the incident at the Westchester County Airport in New York. 

“There was contact between the suspect vehicle and the intended victim, causing a non-life threatening injuries,” Gray said.

A man is in custody of the Westchester (N.Y.) County Police Department, but police didn't release any other details of the arrest. Gray said they are not seeking additional suspects in the incident.
