Fire officials told the Wilton Bulletin that the cause of the fire was still under investigation. Because there are no fire hydrants in the area, water tankers from Norwalk, Westport, Weston, New Canaan, Georgetown and Ridgefield all responded to provide mutual aid, for a total of 30 to 35 firefighters, the Wilton Bulletin reported.

Nobody was injured in the fire at 14 Shadow Lane, which was reported around 7 p.m. Firefighters were initially concerned about a family dog that was tied up in the backyard, but it was able to safely escape harm, according to the Wilton Bulletin.
