Greenwich Woman Found With Knife, Marijuana In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — A 12 1/2 inch knife was found Tuesday in the glove compartment of a vehicle during a traffic stop in Stamford’s South End, Sgt. Richard Barbagallo said.

Police searched the vehicle after two of the four people in it were found to be in possession of marijuana, and officers found the knife, Barbagallo said.

Officers originally stopped the car because of its darkly tinted windows, he said. One of the passengers turned over three bags of marijuana when police asked, and the driver, Shyniqua McClintock, 21, of Greenwich turned over a bag when she saw a K-9 unit coming to search the vehicle, Barbagallo said.

McClintock was charged with illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle and possession of less than one gram of marijuana, both felony charges, and cited for an infraction for tinted auto glass requirements, police said.

The 20-year-old passenger, from Stamford, was given an infraction for the marijuana.
