Ricky Holloway, 24, of 115 5th Ave., Manhattan, N.Y., was charged with being a fugitive from justice, three conspiracy charges of second-degree forgery, criminal impersonation and interfering with an officer along with use of a highway by a pedestrian.
He was held on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 3.
Motorists called police and reported that a man and a woman were throwing rocks at one another as they walked on the Merritt Parkway near the Lake Avenue exit Tuesday just before 9 a.m., police said.
When officers arrived, the couple said they were looking for important papers that had blown out of their car as they drove on the parkway, police said. There was no evidence of the couple fighting or throwing rocks, police said.
They escorted the couple back to their vehicle, which was parked on Old Mill Road, police said.
The woman, Aurora Jackson, was given a summons for use of a highway by a pedestrian. However, Holloway had no identification and gave officers two different names, police said. He was arrested on charges of interfering with an officer and use of the highway by a pedestrian and transported to headquarters because he could not be positively identified, police said.
At police headquarters, he signed his name as Christian Powell, police said. But when he was fingerprinted, the AFIS fingerprint machine identified him as Ricky Holloway and said there was a Violation of Parole and first-degree robbery warrant for him out of Queens, N.Y. The man then said he had lied and that his name was Ricky Holloway, police said.
