The attack occurred just after 3 a.m. at Armonk and North Water streets as a 21-year-old Greenwich man and a 19-year-old Port Chester man were walking home after working at a Port Chester restaurant, police said.

When the victims reached Armonk Street in Greenwich, a light-colored SUV with New York plates veered toward the sidewalk and three suspects jumped out and attacked the victims, police said. The suspects threw punches and kicked the two men while the driver stayed inside the vehicle, police said.

Both victims fought back but were knocked to the ground during what police called a "ferocious attack."

After the suspects forcibly took the victim’s cellphones and wallets, they returned to their vehicle, police said. One victim, however, continued to struggle until he saw one of the suspects holding a gun, police said. The victim then backed away, and the suspects fled the area, police said.

The three robbers were described as dark-skinned, Spanish-speaking males, police said. The vehicle was last seen traveling south on North Water Street with its headlights off.

Both of the victims declined medical attention, police said.
