Greenwich Police: Second Break-In Attempt At Same House

GREENWICH, Conn. – An attempted burglary was reported Monday afternoon at a multifamily home on Milbank Avenue for the second time in a month, according to Greenwich Police.

A suspect, described as a white male with a scruffy beard, who spoke with an unknown accent, was observed by a neighbor of the Milbank Avenue home attempting to pry open a locked door. When questioned by the neighbor, the suspect reportedly made up a fictitious name of someone he was there to see. The suspect then fled on foot when the neighbor called the police.

Officers flooded the area but the suspect was not located. A Stamford K-9 unit was called and assisted Greenwich Police. The K-9 tracked the suspect in a southerly direction but ultimately lost the scent in the area of the train station, police said.

A burglary attempt was reported at the same house on Nov. 20, also in the middle of the day.
