Greenwich Police Search For Suspect In Drugs For Gun Deal

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich police arrested one Stamford man and are searching for another after an alleged drug deal in which the currency for the drugs was at least one firearm, according to spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray.

Police arrested Mark Thomas Pelazza, 24, of Stamford on East Putnam Avenue near the Greenwich-Stamford border after he allegedly was engaged in a drug deal for a firearm.

During the police investigation, the other suspect fled and could not be found. Law enforcement officials from Greenwich, Stamford and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority tried to track the suspect using K-9 units and a bloodhound, but were unsuccessful.

The search for the second suspect continues.

At the time of Pelazza's arrest, a weapon could not be found. 

Pelazza was charged with the illegal sale of a firearm, conspiracy and criminal attempt. He is being held at the Greenwich Police Department on $75,000 bond.
