Greenwich Police Search For Car Theft Suspects

GREENWICH, Conn. — Five people were arrested in connection with the theft of a car in Greenwich, as well as numerous other cars being entered, according to Greenwich Time.

Police were in the Mianus River area searching for more suspects Friday morning, Greenwich Time reported. Police had been called to Seitz Lan off Harold Street after receiving a report of 10 people acting suspiciously, according to Greenwich Time. When police showed up, the suspects fled the scene, police told Greenwich Time.

It was determined that a car had been stolen and more had been entered, according to Greenwich Time. Police were able to apprehend five suspects and recover the stolen car, but the search continued for the other suspects, according to Greenwich Time. State police, as well as a K-9 from Westport and police boats were in the Mianus River area conducting the search, according to Greenwich Time.

There have been many recent burglaries in Greenwich and surrounding towns where thieves entered unlocked cars. Police are warning residents to always leave their cars locked and to remove keys and other valuables.
