Greenwich Police Nab Pair In Heroin, Cocaine Bust

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich police busted a New York man with 60 bags of heroin as part of a drug surveillance investigation that originally targeted a town woman, police said.

 Nimrod Romero, 22, of 37 Columbia St.,Apt. 3,  Thornwood N.Y., was arrested Monday on drug charges in Greenwich.

On Monday afternoon on Alexander Street, officers stopped the pair -- Ashley Cabrero, 30, of 54 Alexander St., Apt. 2, Greenwich, and Nimrod Romero, 22, of 37 Columbia St., Apt. 3,  Thornwood.

Officers seized 60 bags of heroin from Romero as well as two small bags of cocaine from him, police said.

He was slapped with eight drug-related charges while Cabrero was hit with six drug charges.

She was released on a promise to appear in court on March 25.

Romero wasn't able to post his $100,000 bond and he was held for his first scheduled court appearance on March 23.
