Greenwich Police: Man Threatens Neighbor With Gun

GREENWICH, Conn. – Two Greenwich men were arrested after one allegedly pointed a gun at the other during a verbal dispute Sunday in their shared driveway outside their residence on Alexander Street, Greenwich police said.

Raffaele Lapietra was charged with second-degree threatening, second-degree breach of the peace, second-degree reckless endangerment, failure to secure a loaded firearm and endangerment of a minor, police said. The gun in question is registered to Lapietra,  police said.

Lapietra was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Jan. 14.

The neighbor, Scott Karsen, was charged with breach of the peace and released on a written promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Jan. 14. 

In other police news: 

• Alberto Altamirano Jr. of Greenwich was charged with hitting a parked vehicle with his car on South Water Street and fleeing the scene Jan. 5, according to a Greenwich police report. His vehicle was found in an adjacent driveway, consistent with witness reports, police said. Altamirano was charged with evading responsibility, restricted turns fail signal, unsafe movement and operating without a license. He was released upon posting $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 14.

• The license plates were reported stolen from a pair of cars parked on Railroad Avenue, according to Greenwich police. Both sets were reported missing by their owners at about 4:15 p.m. Jan. 4.

• Several bicycles valued at $3,000 to $4,000 were reported stolen from a shed on River Road while the homeowners were away for several days, according to police. The family reported the thefts Jan. 4 upon returning home.
