Greenwich Cops: Stamford Man Stole From Parked Pickup Truck

GREENWICH, Conn. -- A Stamford man was arrested Sunday after trying to steal items from a parked pickup truck on East Putnam Avenue, according to Greenwich police.

Yeltsin Najarro, 19, of Stamford was spotted rummaging through a parked pickup truck in the private parking lot of a Shell gas station that was closed, according to the police report.

Upon questioning, Najarro told officers he was a Greenwich resident, but it was later determined he lives in Stamford, police said.

Najarro was charged with third-degree burglary, simple trespassing and interfering with an officer. He was unable to post his $1,000 bond and was given a court date of July 8 in Stamford Superior Court.

A Greenwich woman reported that her Range Rover was stolen from a parking lot on Mason Street on Saturday, according to police.

The woman reported to police that she was inside a store, and the vehicle was gone when she came out, police said.

Police were investigating. Anyone with information on the missing Range Rover is encouraged to contact Greenwich Police.
