Several units were dispatched to the home at around 10:30 p.m. Sunday on a report of a structure fire. Engines 5, 2, 1, 3, Truck 1, Rescue 5 and car 3 all arrived to find a garage fully involved in flames, and that the fire had extended into the main house.
Additional units were called for manpower, and three hose lines were sued to bring the fire under control in about 30 minutes.
Fire officials told Greenwich Time that the family was home at the time, but they were able to get out safely.
A video posted to the Greenwich Professional Firefighters Facebook page shows the car port fully engulfed in flames before engines arrive.
